Rule: Returned double pointer lost const¶
Canonical rule slug: return-double-pointer-lost-const. ← back to all rules
A function returning a pointer to pointer loses const below the first level -- binary-identical, but the new result no longer converts to the old type, so callers binding it to the old type no longer compile.
